SIBAN KUORO – POPULAR MUSIC PROJECT

Music: Several composers of the Let’s change the rules -concert, for example Merzi Rajala, Kevin Fox, Moira Smiley, Peder Karlsson, Federico Trindade, Astrid Vang Pedersen.
Choirs for ecocide law is a project that wants to get the perpetrators of the ecocide liable in front of the law. The aim of the project is that the International Criminal Court in Hague would add a new section of law about the ecocide.
SIBAN KUORO – BAROQUE PROJECT
16.01.2024 – 10.02.2024 / S-Y25_K24 Kuoro: Sibelius-Akatemian kuoro, PURCELL / Choir: Sibelius-Academy Choir, PURCELL, 2-3 op / ALL VOICES, BUT A LIMITED AMOUNT OF SINGERS CAN BE TAKEN
In this choir project you will rehearse a shortened concert version of the semi-opera King Arthur, by Henry Purcell (about 70 min.) In this project the students get to deepen the knowledge of baroque music as a choir singer. A choir conducting student will rehearse the choir for the orchestra rehearsals with the Early music department’s baroque orchestra. The concert will be produced in the nice atmosphere of the House of Nobility. The visiting professor Justin Doyle will conduct the concert.
